Your function

As part of a complete design team covering all design trades, you will be responsible for the complete management of the technically and economically optimized railway track design namely:

  • compliance of the longitudinal profile with the operating conditions of the line;
  • conformity of the armament constituting the railway track;
  • compliance with the singular interface elements on this route.

Tasks include:

  • Preliminary design and conceptual design;
  • Define and write the technical requirements specifications specific to the creation/regeneration of all railway components;
  • Develop or check if taken over by another partner, the analytical budget estimate for the entire track system: bed, rail, sleepers, joints, switches and crossings;
  • Ensure that the design complies with railway standards and norms, when establishing the design and monitoring the traceability of any regulatory changes between the approved design and the delivery of the said installations when they are put into service;
  • Participate in the tests for the acceptance of the track empty and under load in order to declare compliance with the technical and performance specifications under load for rolling stock intended for the operation of the line;
  • Define the structure of the track maintenance approach in terms of allotment and frequency of intervention aimed at controlling the life cycle of the track on the basis of theoretical operating data at the design stage (annual tonnage of loading and its distribution (daily, monthly, axle load);
  • Provide the technical interface between the railway and the needs of other experts in charge of interface equipment, on or laterally to the track (energy, radio, beacons, track circuit);

  • Ability to specify maintenance rules according nature of components, solicitation level, wheel/track interfaces (organization by allotment, frequency);
  • Ability to argue, challenge hypotheses;
  • Ability to quantify an analytical budget structure on track structure, components and construction method ( work progress rate);
