Role Summary:

The Senior Validation Engineer for Loads is responsible for maintaining and following a stable validation process over all test campaigns. Continuous improvement on Co- Simulation of gathered data and leading Thermal and Thrust campaigns do also belong to this position. Other responsibilities are specific tests for components or sub-systems to understand the behavior and structural fatigue in operation. This role will manage test execution and the improvement of analysis tools and reporting.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordination with cross functional teams and third party to build up the test plan, arrange the test equipment and execute testing.
  • Lead the team of Test Managers to ensure standardized validation process for sensor mounting, data acquisition system, data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Manage test campaigns to ensure the successful execution of the validation plan, report out if any potential risks.
  • Ensure Lessons Learned implementation.
  • Setup of simulation models and lead co-simulation including comparison to test data.
  • Reporting and communication to certification bodies.
  • Interpret abnormal data and troubleshooting.
  • Observe and adjust data analysis process and software tools.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor or above degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable field.
  • Proven experience in machine testing and validation according IEC 61400-13.
  • Good understanding of loads measurements, data analysis and loads simulation is required.
  • Project management experience.
  • Positive mindset, strong problem-solving skills and ability to defend a technical position.
  • Some experience in structural fatigue analysis.
  • Knowledge of Strain, Pressure, Temperature, and displacement measuring systems is required.
  • Wind turbine system knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment, flexibility of working hours with global sites.
  • Ability to climb wind towers and willingness to travel.
