Want to be part of an exciting journey? For our plant in Nexans Buizingen, we are looking for a new plant manager.

The Plant Manager is responsible of designing and monitoring the production plan in line with objectives in quantity, quality, cost and deadlines, in respect of People and Customers. He is responsible for the safety rules enforcement, and for an annual performance improvement in line with the lean ambition we have and technology evolution we target.

Responsibilities and tasks:

Safety/Quality/Environment

  • To elaborate, implement, support and follow the safety, quality and environmental policy. There is no tolerance on compliance.

People management

  • To lead, train, coach and follow the direct colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization to pro-actively drive networking, benchmarking and best practice sharing with the respective colleagues.
  • Ability to set and follow corrective actions when necessary.

Strategic plan

  • As member of the Leadership Team, to contribute to the elaboration and to the up-date of the strategic plan (BU BNL/UK/DIY).
  • To drive Strategy and Policy deployment in terms of concrete objectives, actions and measures within the Buizingen Plant and logistic center.
  • Contributes to the Industrial Strategy of the Business Groups.

Budget/Capex

  • On an annual basis prepare the budget (costs, expenses, capex) for the Buizingen production unit and the logistic center. (Work done in collaboration with the financial management and based on the historical elements of the year N-1, the forecasts and the SOP objectives).
  • Monitoring of production
  • Monitors the plant production schedule.
  • Manages the resources for the production plan.

Application of standards

  • Ensures the necessary vigilance to the application of industrial and financial standards.

Production organization

  • To organize and oversee all the resources of the factory (production, maintenance, planning and scheduling, procurement, quality control, health and safety, stocks, etc.).

Logistic Service

  • Organize the logistic resources (logistics team, outsourcing of loading and unloading operations, transport, ...) in order to stock and dispatch products from the Logistics Center.

Social politic

  • As president of the Work Council and the Prevention and Protection at work Committee, to ensure daily relationships with management and unions and to negotiate and implement the working conditions.

Follow up and reporting

  • To organize a close follow up of the activities of the plant (meetings, reports, etc.) and to prepare the reporting with the view to the monthly business reviews.

Continuous improvement

  • To implement continuous improvement projects (process, products, etc.) and capex investment projects.

What we are looking for:

  • Master’s Degree Engineering;
  • Minimum 5 years of Production Management Experience or equivalent;
  • Strong Leadership;
  • Hands on;
  • Communication skills;
  • Operational excellence;
  • Global team player;
  • Products & services knowledge;
  • Nl, FR and EN;
  • SAP and IT application knowledge.
