The Fluor Energy & Chemicals business line in The Netherlands is seeking motivated and experienced people to join the team and now we are looking for a qualified Mechanical Lead Engineer to head up the Mechanical Engineering group.
As a Mechanical Lead Engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical engineering services for a large variety of international brown field, grass root & revamp facilities for petrochemical, oil, chemical, gas, life sciences & industrial services. Services comprise of conceptual design, basic engineering, extended basic engineering & detailed design, as well as support in fabrication and construction, for reimbursable & lump sum projects.
You have experience in managing & supervising a team of engineers in a multi-discipline, multi-offices & complex project environment and you have well developed communication, interpersonal & leadership skills & wants to work in a collaborative and international project task force, where generating & fostering internal & external client relationships is of high importance.
As a Mechanical Lead you & your team of 5 up to 30 engineers will define fit for purpose & cost effective specifications for various equipments such as pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, fired heaters, special process equipment & material handling equipment for inquiry & purchase. Close interaction & cooperation with world wide equipment suppliers is required. Activities performed are the preparation & review of technical evaluations of supplier bids, review of supplier drawings & documents, attend supplier meetings, resolve supplier (manufacturer) related issues & coordinate/interface with engineering disciplines like process, piping, electrical, control systems and civil for equipment & facility design, as well as construction disciplines for project constructability and support thru execution.
Next to the activities above, the Mechanical Lead will define and plan the execution of the work, prepare & maintain schedules, develop & monitor man hour and equipment cost estimates, develop manpower forecasts, track and report progress, assign and monitor work and act closely together with the Client, Project Management, Procurement, Contracting & (field) Construction. Participation in coaching engineers as well as conducting performance reviews is part of the responsibilities.
