Role Summary:

In this role you will be responsible for driving exceptional product quality for the patient safety, customer value, regulatory assurance, and optimized Cost of Quality. This is a key technical position, affecting part quality for both installed base and New Product Introduction parts. You will have an opportunity to utilize strong electronic/electrical experience, work together with internal and external partners and deliver best in class healthcare products for our customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Improve supplier quality performance for assigned suppliers via Quality Plan implementation.
  • Approve supplier selection through robust qualification processes.
  • Assure supplier compliance to GE Healthcare QMS and regulatory requirements through supplier monitoring process.
  • Develop positive relationships and work closely with Global Sourcing Leaders and Modality Sourcing Leaders to manage and implement supplier/engineering changes, New Product Introductions, and transfers.
  • Interface with Suppliers, Engineering, Service, Manufacturing and Sourcing to drive Quality improvements that minimize the Costs of Quality, specifically Failed on Arrival/Install (FOA/FOI) issues, Field Failures, and Factory defects.
  • Assure Corrective and Preventive Action plans are developed and executed at assigned suppliers in compliance with the CAPA process.7. All other duties as assigned by manager
  • Support effective Design transfer to Manufacturing
  • To be the driving force behind new quality methodology thinking (APQP/PPAP).
  • Ensure that customer requirements are understood, internalized and implemented in all New Products Development Programs.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline
  • Experience in R&D Design, Electronic/Electrical Manufacturing and/or Engineering Program/Project Management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheet development and analysis.
  • Effective problem solving, root-cause analytical skills to lead and influence others to drive change, cross-functionally and globally.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Report-writing skills
  • Ability to travel mainly in Europe approximately 25% of your working time
  • Fluency in English both written and verbal

Desired Characteristics:

  • Leadership experience in Manufacturing Engineering/Assembly Engineering, at a “hands on” production line level.
  • Prior experience in an Advanced Quality Engineering Role, with experience of APQP requirements and implementation.
  • Familiarity with various engineering areas of technology, such as, but not limited to: Electronics, Plastics, Cable & Harness, Fab & Machine, Power Supplies & Power Distribution, Batteries, HLA’s, or OEM (Process & Design capability)
  • Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485 or similar Quality Management System
  • Auditing Skills
